Okesia Kin

Melungeon Kins are smaller family groups that are all or mostly related by blood or marriage.  The Okesia Melungeon Kin is simply my own network of Melungeon family and close friends.  These are the people that share my ancestors, share many of my memories, and share life with me, but especially includes all people descended from me, my little Kin is small and new, but it is ever growing.  Okesia Melungeons are part of the larger Hazeltucky/Bear Creek Kinnet, which is part of the Great 

Lakes Melungeon Diaspora.  We are called Lakeminites.  The Great Lakes Diaspora is made up almost entirely of Melungeon people that migrated from the Black Mountain, Big Sandy, and Big South Fork Kinnets.
